N.C. Rules and Laws

General Statute

North Carolina immunization rules are part of North Carolina’s General Statutes.  Chapter 130A is the public health statue.

Article 6, Part 2, sections 152 through 158 of the public health statue refers to immunizations.  The sections are divided as follows:

• § 130A-152. Immunization required. PDF)

• § 130A-158. Restitution required when vaccine spoiled due to provider negligence. (PDF)

Article 17 of the public health statute contains rules on the childhood vaccine-related injury compensation program.

Administrative Code

The Commission for Public Health creates the rules to enforce the statue. Those rules are part of the North Carolina Administrative Code. Title 10A, Chapter 41 subchapter A, section .0400 refers to immunizations.  The section is divided as follows:
